Group classes are as much fun as they are informative, besides being a very affordable way to continue your voice training. They can be in addition to private lessons or an alternative. There is something for everyone, beginner to advanced, all musical styles. All of my classes focus on technique, style and application to your songs, and camaraderie. BREATH SUPPORT APPLIED TO SINGING!
Breath Support or Breath Control – We know we need it to sing well, but singers either don’t understand it or don’t apply it properly (if at all)! We will review the principles of breath support in simple, everyday language and then apply it directly into singing! It can make a HUGE difference in every part of your singing!
This will be a masterclass/workshop with vocal exercises for the entire group. Our classes are always fun, with friendly singers from all over the world. I will also take up to 5 performers (preferably a mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level singers) from Victoria’s Vocal Exercise Program (VVVEP) who need help with breath support. I am allotting 2 1/2 hours. **If you cannot attend live, the class will be video recorded and available for 3 weeks to all who register. I try to make all these programs very affordable so that more people can join. The cost to perform will be $50 and I can only take 5 soloists. The cost for other participants will be $40. (There is no charge for Tier 2 members). Everyone must be a member of VVVEP. After the singing, I will answer any questions. If time permits, I may ask for volunteers to demonstrate an exercise.
Details: Each performer will have up to 2 minutes to sing a part of a song with or without accompaniment. I will give you a quick evaluation, prescribe a vocal exercise or two, and then you will apply it to your song – approximately 8 minutes total per singer. This will be followed by the entire group participating in the exercises. Singers learn from each other, so whether you perform solo or not, you will learn a lot! One new idea can totally transform your voice! *The only prerequisite for soloists is the ability to sing in tune because this class will not include ear training. I will send all performers a questionnaire to complete ahead of time.
**To get the most out of the class, I will assign “homework” to complete in advance (just watching a few of my videos).
